Jammu, April 12, 2025 – On the sacred occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, extended warm greetings to the people, praying for the blessings of Lord Hanuman to bring health, prosperity, and wisdom to all. In his message, Sinha invoked the divine qualities of Pavanputra Hanuman, revered as the embodiment of strength, devotion, loyalty, dedication, intelligence, discernment, and courage.
The festival, celebrated with great zeal across the Union Territory and India, marks the birth of Lord Hanuman, the devoted follower of Lord Rama. Temples in Jammu, such as the historic Hanuman Mandir at Peer Kho, and in Kashmir saw devotees thronging to offer prayers, sindoor, and sweets, while chanting the Hanuman Chalisa to seek protection and guidance.
LG Manoj Sinha’s message highlighted Hanuman’s virtues as an inspiration for fostering unity, resilience, and selfless service. He expressed his hope that the blessings of Lord Hanuman would grant good health, happiness, well-being, and enlightenment to all, strengthening the spiritual and cultural fabric of the region.
Observed on Chaitra Purnima, Hanuman Jayanti saw vibrant celebrations, including bhajans, processions, and community events across Jammu and Kashmir. From the Raghunath Temple in Jammu to smaller shrines in the Valley, devotees participated in rituals to honor the deity known as Sankat Mochan, the remover of obstacles.
