Srinagar, July 17 — The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir has approved the establishment of the Lieutenant Governor’s Sainik Sahayta Kendra (LGSSK), aimed at addressing civilian grievances of serving soldiers from the Indian Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces.
Constituted under Government Order No. 933-JK(GAD) of 2025 dated July 17, 2025, the Kendra will assist soldiers posted in Jammu & Kashmir or originally from the UT, offering single-window grievance redressal and liaison support.
The Kendra will coordinate with civil and police officials, monitor pending cases, and submit quarterly performance reports to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor. It will function from the Civil Secretariat offices in Jammu and Srinagar.
The Information Technology Department will provide staff and technical support, while the Estates Department will arrange accommodation for the Kendra.
For operational purposes, Prasanna Ramaswamy G (IAS), Aflaq Ahmad (JKAS), and Abhimanyu Singh (JKAS) have been nominated to support the Kendra in addition to their existing responsibilities.
This initiative reflects the UT Administration’s commitment to ensuring structured grievance redressal and upholding the welfare of serving soldiers.
