JAMMU, MARCH 26: Representatives of Parmeshwari Care and Cure Charitable Trust called on Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, today. The delegation comprised of Prof. (Dr.) Kulbushan Mohtra, Managing Trustee; Shri Sanjeev Vaid, Trustee; and Er. Narinder Abrol, Project Manager briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the future endeavours of their Trust to establish a Dogra Heritage and Culture Centre, and an ‘Elderly Care Home’, a dedicated facility for the wellbeing of senior citizens. The meeting, held at Raj Bhawan, highlighted the Trust’s commitment to preserving the rich cultural legacy of the Dogra community while addressing the growing need for specialized care for the elderly in the region.
The proposed Dogra Heritage and Culture Centre aims to serve as a vibrant hub for showcasing the traditions, art, and history of the Dogra people, fostering a deeper appreciation among the younger generation and visitors alike. Meanwhile, the ‘Elderly Care Home’ is envisioned as a state-of-the-art facility designed to provide comprehensive support, healthcare, and a dignified living environment for senior citizens, reflecting the Trust’s focus on social welfare. The delegation shared detailed plans with the Lieutenant Governor, emphasizing sustainable development and community engagement as core principles of these initiatives.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, known for his emphasis on cultural preservation and social upliftment, appreciated the Trust’s efforts. He assured the delegation of his support in facilitating these projects, underscoring the importance of such initiatives in strengthening Jammu and Kashmir’s social fabric and heritage. “Preserving our culture and caring for our elderly are vital steps toward a prosperous and inclusive society,” he remarked during the discussion.
In a separate meeting, Advocate Pawan Dev Singh, President of the Bar Association Reasi, also called on the Lieutenant Governor. The interaction focused on issues pertaining to the legal fraternity in Reasi, with Advocate Singh raising concerns about infrastructure and support for judicial processes in the district. The Lieutenant Governor listened attentively and assured that appropriate measures would be taken to address the concerns, reinforcing his administration’s commitment to improving access to justice across the Union Territory.
