Srinagar, October 25, 2025 – Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha congratulated NDTV Good Times for bringing Bollywood icon Sonu Nigam to Srinagar, revealing that the city is abuzz with excitement ahead of the singer’s historic live concert at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre .“There is lots of chatter across the city about the concert,” Sinha told reporters at Raj Bhawan, unable to hide his enthusiasm despite missing the event due to prior commitments for Chhath Puja.
“I congratulate NDTV for this wonderful initiative. This concert will give a big push to tourism in the Valley,” he said.The Sonu Nigam Live Concert, scheduled for October 26, 2025, marks a cultural turning point for Kashmir—its first major live music event since the April 22 Pahalgam attack. The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the broader impact: “Local artistes are immensely talented. Such platforms allow them to showcase their skills to the world.”With over 2 crore tourists visiting Jammu and Kashmir in recent years, Sinha sees the concert as a magnet for renewed national attention. “Sonu Nigam’s presence has already created a wave. Bollywood filmmakers will return to shoot here. This is a golden opportunity to showcase Kashmir’s beauty and warmth,” he added.
The five-and-a-half-hour spectacle will pay tribute to Mohammed Rafi on his birth centenary, featuring Nigam’s chart-topping hits alongside soulful Rafi classics. Local stars Qazi Touqeer and Rauhan Malik will open the show, blending Kashmiri essence with Bollywood grandeur.As Srinagar hums with anticipation—shikaras adorned with posters, cafes playing Nigam’s melodies, and youth rehearsing lyrics—the stage is set for a night that promises to heal, unite, and inspire.
