Srinagar, April 25, 2025 – In a high-level meeting in Srinagar, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha urged the Army Chief and senior military officials to intensify efforts to bring those responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack to justice and dismantle the terrorism infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir. The meeting, attended by the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Northern Command, Deputy Chief of Army Staff, and General Officer Commanding 15 Corps, focused on strengthening security measures and ensuring coordinated action against terrorism.
The Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, 2025, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists, at Baisaran meadows, has triggered widespread outrage. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha called for a relentless pursuit of justice, stating, “Every perpetrator and supporter of the Pahalgam terror attack, regardless of location or affiliation, must be hunted and pay a heavy price for this cowardly act against our citizens.” He expressed full confidence in the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and Central Armed Police Forces, emphasizing the need for close synergy to identify and neutralize perpetrators, enablers, and Over Ground Workers.
The discussions reviewed existing security protocols, short-term and long-term measures, and inter-agency coordination to prevent future attacks. The meeting addressed the attack’s escalation of violence against civilians and explored strategies to crush the terrorism ecosystem. The Northern Command, a key hub for counter-terrorism operations, played a central role in the deliberations.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s directive aligns with the central government’s firm stance against terrorism, reflected in the Prime Minister’s commitment to track and punish those responsible.
