Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha addressed youth at the event “Hindi Rangmanch – Humari Bhasha, Humari Pehchaan” organised by the Wadies Hindi Shiksha Samiti at Tagore Hall, Srinagar. The program highlighted the promotion of Hindi as an official language and its role in strengthening India’s shared cultural identity. In his keynote address, LG Manoj Sinha lauded the remarkable efforts of the Wadies Hindi Shiksha Samiti in bringing youth engagement towards the language. He emphasised that in the last 75 years, Hindi has evolved as a symbol of pride, integrity, unity, and national identity, connecting the diverse regions of India. During the freedom struggle, Hindi became the medium to express the collective sentiments of the nation, serving as a bridge of national integration. Highlighting India’s vast linguistic diversity with 453 living languages, LG Manoj Sinha noted that Hindi has served as a connecting link for 140 crore people. He urged young citizens to promote linguistic harmony, take pride in their mother tongue, and also learn other languages to expand cultural and literary horizons. Referring to the Constituent Assembly debates of September 14, 1949, LG Manoj Sinha recalled how Hindi received strong support even from non-Hindi speaking regions. This, he said, reflects how freedom fighters and policymakers viewed Hindi as a thread of harmony that enriches India’s cultural heritage. LG Manoj Sinha also praised the initiatives of the Department of Culture and the J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages for preserving and promoting the linguistic heritage of Jammu and Kashmir. As part of the program, LG Manoj Sinha felicitated students, teachers, and artists for their participation in a Hindi awareness campaign organized in Kendriya Vidyalayas during June-July. The campaign, aimed at classes 6th to 10th, included various literary and cultural activities to generate interest in Hindi among the youth. The event witnessed the presence of Principal Secretary Culture Shri Brij Mohan Sharma, Param Vir Chakra awardee Yogendra Yadav, J&K Bank MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee, Deputy Commissioner KVS Jammu Nagendra Goyal, and Wadies Hindi Shiksha Samiti National President Ms. Nasreen Ali Nidhi, along with educational heads, literary personalities, senior officials, and youth. Through such initiatives, LG Manoj Sinha underlined that Hindi Rangmanch reinforces the message that language is not just communication, but also an instrument of cultural pride, unity, and empowerment for India’s youth.
