JAMMU, June 23, 2025: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha addressed the Mega Job Fair-2025, organised by Cluster University of Jammu in collaboration with Desh Bhagat University, Punjab, at Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The event, a significant initiative to bridge the gap between education and employment, saw participation from 57 reputed national companies, offering diverse employment opportunities to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory .
In his speech, LG Sinha commended Cluster University Jammu and Desh Bhagat University Punjab for their collaborative effort in creating a platform for J&K youth to showcase their skills and secure careers. “This job fair aims to empower our young generation, enabling them to contribute to building Viksit Jammu Kashmir and Viksit Bharat,” he stated. He extended felicitations to participating companies and conveyed best wishes to selected candidates.
Highlighting the J&K administration’s focus on employment generation, LG Sinha emphasised the new Industrial Policy prioritising local youth hiring. He cited Atomic North Private Limited’s BPO in Kathua, currently employing 375 youths with potential to scale to 1,000, and urged the company to establish another unit in Udhampur. Additionally, he noted that JSW Group is planning a BPO in Jammu, further expanding job prospects.
The Lieutenant Governor distributed job offer letters to selected candidates and handed over AICTE approval for BBA and BCA courses to Cluster University Jammu. With 3,759 candidates registered, the Mega Job Fair 2025 underscored the growing private sector interest in recruiting J&K youth, a positive indicator for the region’s economy.
LG Sinha also highlighted reforms guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aligning education with industry needs and attracting private investment. He noted that industries in J&K have availed Rs 28,400 crore in incentives under the New Industrial Development Scheme, with projects worth Rs 45,000 crore completed or underway, fostering industrialization and trade expansion.
The event was attended by Prof. K.S. Chandraseker, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu; Dr. Sandeep Singh, President, Desh Bhagat University, Punjab; Dr. Geetanjali Andotra, Principal, GCW Gandhi Nagar; and representatives from various companies and educational institutions.
