New Delhi, July 16, 2025 – Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha delivered a powerful address at a seminar titled “J&K’s March Towards Peace” in Delhi, organized by Gandhi Smriti as part of its lecture series. The event, held at Gandhi Smriti, 5 Tees January Marg, underscored the Union Territory’s commitment to fostering peace, unity, and progress, inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s timeless philosophy of truth, non-violence, and compassion.
In his speech, LG Sinha emphasized that Pujya Bapu’s philosophy continues to guide J&K’s journey toward harmony. He highlighted the integration of Gandhian values into the region’s education system, noting that schools and institutions are actively inculcating principles of peace and compassion among the youth. “Our education system is shaping a generation that embodies the values of truth and non-violence, paving the way for a peaceful and progressive J&K,” Sinha stated.

The seminar also celebrated J&K’s annual month-long peace march in the Kashmir Valley, held to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary. This initiative reflects the region’s efforts to reclaim its historical legacy as a land of peace. LG Sinha remarked, “The youth of J&K are now conscious that the J&K of Bapu’s dreams is one of unity and peace, and they are actively contributing to this vision.”
Addressing recent challenges, LG Sinha condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack, describing it as a desperate attempt by Pakistan, referred to as a “terrorist nation,” to disrupt J&K’s economic and cultural progress. He asserted that such acts aim to undermine India’s cultural-spiritual fabric and stall the Union Territory’s development. “This wind of change in J&K has rattled those who seek to destabilize us. The Pahalgam attack was meant to halt our economic progress, but we are marching ahead with renewed strength,” he declared, praising the Indian Army’s resolute response through Operation Sindoor.
LG Sinha also inaugurated the Gandhi Smriti Art Gallery during the event, further emphasizing the cultural significance of the occasion. He reiterated India’s unwavering commitment to peace, stating, “India is committed to peace, and J&K’s progress will not be derailed by acts of terror.”The seminar, attended by dignitaries and peace advocates, highlighted J&K’s transformation into a hub of development and tourism, with LG Sinha noting the region’s record-breaking tourism numbers as a testament to its stability. “J&K is witnessing a new era of peace and prosperity, and we will defeat terrorism together,” he affirmed. The event, organized by Gandhi Smriti, reinforced the organization’s mission to promote Gandhian values and foster dialogue on peace and progress.
