Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha inaugurated the second edition of the ‘J&K Sambhaav Utsav’, organized by the Resident Commission of Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi. In his address, he commended the Resident Commission Office’s initiative to connect people of Delhi and other parts of the country with the Union Territory’s ageless cultural and artistic heritage, creative tradition, and ongoing transformation across various sectors. He highlighted the significance of ‘Sambhaav Manthan Satra,’ a series of thematic sessions designed to spotlight J&K’s immense potential in key areas such as tourism, cultural heritage, craftsmanship, entrepreneurship, and the startup ecosystem. He emphasized that these sessions aim to provide a roadmap for addressing challenges and exploring emerging opportunities in different sectors. The initiative is set to provide a platform for artisans and entrepreneurs to connect with global buyers and exporters. The Lt Governor reiterated the commitment of the UT Administration to empower artisans and entrepreneurs through such endeavors, facilitating their access to international markets. The five-day celebration will showcase the distinct tradition of J&K’s Handicraft & Handloom, renowned for its intricate designs, marvelous embroidery, magical motifs, and subtle shades. The event offers a unique opportunity for visitors to experience the vibrant culture, cuisine, and craftsmanship of Jammu and Kashmir. He noted that the sessions would foster close collaboration between the J&K government, industry leaders, youth, media, the J&K diaspora, and other key stakeholders. He invited people, industry leaders, and stakeholders to explore the immense possibilities in Jammu and Kashmir and contribute to its growth journey. During the inaugural ceremony, LG Shri Manoj Sinha highlighted the transformation and historic growth trajectory of J&K under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He remarked on the fast-paced development and extraordinary accomplishments in various sectors, which underscore the strong resolve towards the holistic development of the Union Territory. The LG shared the ongoing efforts to revive J&K’s cultural identity and artistic traditions, noting the emergence of Jammu and Kashmir as a preferred destination for tourists, filmmakers, and investors worldwide. He emphasized the UT Administration’s commitment to the empowerment of the people, particularly youth, women, farmers, artisans, and craftspeople. He visited the Exhibition Gallery and felicitated winners of various competitions highlighting J&K’s rich cultural heritage and development. The ‘Sambhaav Utsav’ provides an integrated platform for artists, authors, craftspeople, Women Self Help Groups, and entrepreneurs to present the diverse facets of J&K to a larger audience.
