Srinagar, August 22, 2025 – The Jammu and Kashmir School Education Department has introduced an innovative AI-enabled Study Buddy initiative under the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) to revolutionise learning for students in Classes 1–8. Powered by the SwiftChat App, this program aims to enhance educational outcomes through weekly assessments and personalised learning support, with a call for parents to actively support their children at home.
The Study Buddy program leverages AI-enabled learning support to provide tailored educational resources, including curriculum-mapped videos, practice sessions, and instant doubt resolution. The initiative, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, utilises SwiftChat’s conversational AI platform to deliver real-time feedback and track student progress. The Assessment Bot Suite links questions to specific learning outcomes, enabling detailed performance insights for students, teachers, and administrators.
Vidya Samiksha Kendra, a data-driven educational reform model, has been recognized globally and endorsed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for nationwide adoption. In J&K, the program is designed to bridge learning gaps through formative assessments, enhance foundational literacy and numeracy, and foster personalised learning experiences. The SwiftChat App offers tools like the Parakh assessment chatbot and a video library bot, ensuring students have access to engaging, curriculum-aligned content.
Parents are urged to play a pivotal role by extending active support at home, monitoring their children’s progress through the SwiftChat App, and encouraging consistent engagement with the weekly assessments. This collaborative approach aims to create a robust support system for students, aligning with J&K’s vision of an inclusive and equitable education system.
The initiative has been rolled out in collaboration with ConveGenius, an EdTech partner, and is supported by officials from the J&K School Education Department, Samagra Shiksha, and district authorities like the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla. Minga Sherpa, a key figure in the region’s education administration, has emphasised the importance of community involvement in ensuring the program’s success.
This transformative step positions J&K as a leader in AI-driven education, following the footsteps of states like Gujarat and Goa. With real-time data analytics and interactive dashboards, Vidya Samiksha Kendra empowers stakeholders to monitor progress and implement targeted interventions, ensuring better learning outcomes for students across the Union Territory.
