J&K Govt Empowering Gujjar Bakarwals | Free Transportation Initiative Lauded by The Tribal Community Earlier when we used to go uphill we used to face a lot of troubles regarding our animals, said a Bakarwal in Jammu & Kashmir putting his sheep into the transportation truck. It used to take us a month to trek uphill. Females used to carry children on their back. We are thankful to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha for providing us free transportation. Now we can travel fast to our destination without loss of animals. Now we can reach even in one day. We are thankful to the LG government and administration and the Sheep Husbandry Department for taking care of the Bakarwals as they move to the hills. The doctors approach us. Our identity card and Aadhar cards are being made and we are provided with a helpline number.
