Srinagar, October 16, 2025-Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary inaugurated the Indian Handicrafts exhibition at Kashmir’s Haat, Srinagar , showcasing the rich cultural heritage and traditional artistry of Jammu and kashmir
The exhibition brings together artisans and craftsman from across India, featuring a wide range of handcrafted products including pashmina shawls , papier-mache items , wood carvings , carpets , copperware, and traditional embroidery. The event aims to promote local artisans , enhance market linkages and encourage handicraft exports under the Vocal for Local and make in India initiatives .
Speaking on the occasion , Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary lauded the skill and creativity of Kashmir’s artisans livelihoods, and strengthening the handicraft economy through exhibitions and digital outreach.
The week long event at Kashmir’s Haat is expected to attract large crowds offering visitors a glimpse into the timeless beauty and craftsmanship of India:s diverse artisan communities
