Srinagar, April 19, 2025 – The Jammu and Kashmir Cycle Polo Association , an affiliate of the Cycle Polo Federation of India and a recognized body under the J&K Sports Council, has unveiled its Annual Activity Calendar for the 2025–26 season. This milestone announcement underscores the association’s dedication to revitalising cycle polo, a dynamic and underrepresented sport, across Jammu and Kashmir.
The 2025–26 calendar features a robust lineup of events, including district and state-level championships, intensive training camps, and grassroots development programs designed to unearth and nurture talent. The JKCPA aims to make cycle polo a household name by engaging young athletes, particularly from rural and remote areas, and fostering community participation. Highlights include inter-school tournaments, women’s cycle polo clinics, and specialized coaching workshops led by seasoned players and coaches.
“Cycle polo is more than a sport—it’s a blend of skill, strategy, and camaraderie. Our mission is to bring it to every corner of J&K, starting with the youth,” said a JKCPA spokesperson. The association plans to partner with educational institutions, local sports clubs, and community organizations to expand access and build a sustainable ecosystem for the sport. These efforts align with the J&K Sports Council’s broader vision of enhancing sports infrastructure and promoting inclusive opportunities across the region.
Cycle polo, played on bicycles with mallets and a small ball, has seen a resurgence in interest globally due to its accessibility and low environmental footprint. In Jammu and Kashmir, the sport is gaining traction as a platform for youth engagement and community bonding. The JKCPA’s calendar also includes awareness campaigns to highlight cycle polo’s benefits, such as promoting physical fitness and environmental consciousness.
The sports community has warmly welcomed the announcement, with coaches, players, and local leaders praising the JKCPA’s proactive approach. “This calendar is a game-changer for cycle polo in J&K. It’s inspiring to see such commitment to grassroots sports,” said a local sports official. The association’s focus on inclusivity, particularly for women and underrepresented groups, has further amplified its impact.
The JKCPA encourages enthusiasts to join the movement by participating in or volunteering for upcoming events. For a detailed schedule of the 2025–26 season, visit the JKCPA’s official website or contact the J&K Sports Council.
