Kashmir,May 9, 2025- Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited shelter camps housing families displaced due to recent shelling along the Line of Control . The visit, part of his ongoing efforts to address the region’s security and humanitarian challenges, focused on assessing the conditions of the camps and ensuring support for those affected.
Speaking with families, Abdullah listened to their concerns, offering assurances of the government’s unwavering support. “We stand firmly with you during these difficult times,” he said, emphasizing solidarity amid the crisis. He directed officials to urgently provide essential facilities, including food, medical care, clean water, and proper shelter, to ensure no family is left without aid.
The shelling, linked to heightened tensions following India’s Operation Sindoor and Pakistan’s retaliatory artillery fire, has displaced hundreds, with reports of civilian casualties along the LoC. Abdullah’s visit underscores his commitment to crisis management and humanitarian relief, even as he navigates the region’s complex security landscape post the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack.
