The Chief Minister directed officials to reinforce weak embankments, particularly along rivers like the Jhelum and Tawi, to prevent further flooding. He emphasized the urgent evacuation of people from flood-affected villages, such as Zenipora in Pampore, to safer locations.“Round-the-clock monitoring through control rooms is critical,” CM Abdullah stated, urging district officials to conduct frequent visits to affected areas and issue timely advisories to keep residents informed and calm.
