Kashmir, July 10, 2025 – The Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, inaugurated the Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) Kolkata 2025, India’s oldest and most trusted B2B travel trade show, marking a major step in promoting Jammu & Kashmir’s rich tourism potential on the national and international stage.
Speaking at the event, CM Omar Abdullah positioned Jammu & Kashmir as an all-season destination, highlighting the Union Territory’s rapidly growing tourism infrastructure, diverse travel offerings, and investor-friendly policies. He emphasized the region’s unique ability to offer experiences ranging from snow-capped Himalayan adventures to spiritual retreats, cultural heritage, and eco-tourism.
CM Abdullah also underscored the long-standing cultural and emotional bond between Jammu & Kashmir and West Bengal, inviting travellers from the state to rediscover the natural beauty, spiritual richness, and warm hospitality of J&K. “We are ready to welcome our Bengali brothers and sisters to experience the timeless charm of Kashmir,” he said, encouraging both leisure and business travel to the region.
The TTF Kolkata 2025 exhibition has brought together over 500 exhibitors from 25+ Indian states and Union Territories as well as 14+ countries, providing a unique platform for travel professionals, tour operators, and stakeholders to network, collaborate, and explore new opportunities. With over 5,500 industry attendees, the event is a key driver of tourism business in the run-up to the peak travel season.
The Jammu & Kashmir Pavilion attracted significant attention, showcasing its newly launched initiatives in adventure tourism, pilgrimage circuits, sustainable travel, and film tourism. Tourism department officials also engaged with travel companies to promote offbeat destinations like Gurez, Bungus Valley, Doodhpathri, and Kishtwar.
The CM’s participation reflects the administration’s commitment to not only boost tourist arrivals but also to position Jammu & Kashmir as a prime destination for investment and tourism-led development.
