Baramulla, October 15,2025: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah e-inaugurated multiple development projects worth ₹5.24 crore in Baramulla, aimed at improving urban infrastructure and strengthening the power sector in the district.
The projects inaugurated include the construction of an NH footpath up to Carriapa Park, a 6.3 MVA power station at Kalantra, and a 10 MVA power station at Bharahampora, Rafiabad. These initiatives are expected to enhance public amenities, road safety, and electricity distribution, benefiting residents and supporting the region’s economic growth.
CM Omar Abdullah emphasised the government’s commitment to infrastructure development and reliable power supply in urban and semi-urban areas of Jammu & Kashmir. “These projects will not only improve daily convenience for citizens but also contribute to the overall development and modernisation of Baramulla,” he stated.
Officials noted that the NH footpath project will ensure pedestrian safety, while the new power stations will address growing electricity demand and strengthen the power distribution network in the district. The development drive reflects the administration’s focus on sustainable urban growth and energy infrastructure.
Residents welcomed the initiatives, highlighting that improved roads, footpaths, and electricity supply are critical for enhancing quality of life and supporting local businesses.
