I started from zero and J&K Bank supported me financially to set up a TVS two-wheeler shop, said the TVS shop owner in Budgam district of Jammu & Kashmir. Today, 26 people are working for me. A lot of changes have happened since 2018-19. Earlier, nobody listened to us in the bank. Only the rich and influential benefited from the bank. Now, the common people are being respected. The bank manager listens to the problems and makes us aware of the facilities. The common people can get their work done easily in the bank. People should come to the bank and avail loan facilities to start their own business. All they need is to open their account. They should not keep waiting for a government job. There are many schemes by the government. PM Street Vendor’s Atma Nirbhar Nidhi is an exclusive scheme for Rehriwalas, Thelewalas and Hawkers. The PMEGP scheme gives a 25 per cent subsidy. People can go to KVI, Handicraft and District Industries to get a loan of Rs 10, 20, or 50 lakh to start business.
