Event Overview
Bhadarwah, June 16, 2025: The Department of Sports and Physical Education (DOSPE), University of Jammu, organized a 5-kilometre Walkathon today in Bhadarwah to spread awareness about a drug-free India and promote national integration. The event aimed to inspire youth to contribute to Viksit Bharat 2047, India’s vision for a developed nation by 2047.
Inauguration and Leadership
The Walkathon was jointly flagged off by Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jammu, and Prof. Pragati Kumar, Vice Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University. Addressing the participants, both leaders highlighted the critical role of youth in achieving a developed India. They emphasized the need to stay united and combat drug abuse through healthy lifestyles and collective responsibility.
Brand Ambassadors and Participation
Led by brand ambassadors Dr. Sumita Sharma and Vikram Sahi, the Walkathon saw enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and local residents. Participants carried banners with anti-drug messages and slogans promoting national unity, reinforcing the event’s core objectives.
