I feel very pleased to be present at the Tawi Festival of Arts & Ideas, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha expressing his gratefulness to the organisers for inviting him for the annual inaugural event iun Jammu. In 1975, Amar Mahal Museum & Library was established by Doctor Karan Singh ji. He has done the work of paying true tribute to his ancestors, LG said. Another big step was taken in 2023 with the establishment of annual Tawi Festival of Arts & Ideas. Through this festival an attempt is being made to gather experts, writers and artists of India on one platform so that the art lovers get an opportunity to explore the world of new thoughts through the vibrant cultural heritage of the country, the ancient knowledge tradition of Jammu Kashmir and the dialogues of the art experts and writers participating in this event. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the third edition of the Tawi Festival in Jammu, organised by the Hari Tara Charitable Trust, marking the commencement of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Amar Mahal Museum and Library. Tawi Festival is a unique platform of its kind which is capable of quenching the thirst of both mind and heart, said the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Every year it can present a new physical understanding to the society. I see all these elements present in the Tawi Festival. From studies to service, this can be such a platform where independent conscious personalities and many such people can be created in a simple and easy way. I believe that different forms of art are very important for the development of an enlightened society and for inculcating value system and creativity in the citizens. Art and culture are as important for a peaceful and prosperous country and nation as science and technology are. Nowadays, people studying Artificial Intelligence and its impact are being discussed all over the world. Today, many models of artificial intelligence are being trained using the designs of paintings of the world’s great artists. Its web applications are also making paintings as per the demand of the people. Digital copies are being made available to people easily. Similarly, many intellectuals believe that attempts are being made to replace the process of writing as well. I personally believe that AI algorithms can never replace genuine art classes. No artist can turn a blind eye to the progress and inventions in technology. But he will have to keep in mind how to use it and its control should always remain in his hands. The rapid changes taking place in technology and easily available tools have given today’s artists and writers an opportunity to present their unique talent to the whole world and make the global knowledge platform even richer. Basohli painting, Dogri literature, Art and Crafts of Kashmir Valley are like precious diamonds and jewels of the cultural world. It is true that as per their qualification, the Kashmir artists have not yet got the place they deserve in the global knowledge platform, but the wheel of time is turning, LG said. After centuries, today once again India is becoming the center of discussion in the world. Under the guidance of the Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi with the basic mantra of development as well as heritage (Vikas bhi aur Virasat bhi), India’s ancient knowledge system and cultural values have started to be promoted and spread across the world. I must remind you all that the economic development of any society is driven by art and culture. I heartily congratulate the Hari Tara Charitable Trust and all the great people and artists associated with the Tawi festival, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha while inaugurating Tawi Festival in Jammu.
