Jammu, March 13, 2025 – The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) held a “Public Samvaad” event today in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, aimed at fostering public participation and ensuring the effective implementation of government schemes. The initiative provided a platform for open dialogue between citizens and officials, addressing local concerns and aligning developmental efforts with community needs.
The event was presided over by JMC Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav, alongside Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Jammu South, Narinder Singh Raina, and MLA Bahu, Vikram Singh Randhawa. The leaders engaged directly with residents, listening to their grievances and suggestions to enhance civic services and infrastructure in the area.
Dr. Devansh Yadav emphasized the importance of such programs in bridging the gap between the administration and the public. He assured attendees that the issues raised during the Public Samvaad would be prioritized and addressed systematically, with focused attention in upcoming budgetary plans. “This initiative is about ensuring that the people of Jammu have a voice in shaping their city’s future,” he stated.
MLA Narinder Singh Raina lauded the JMC’s efforts, noting that the Public Samvaad reflects a commitment to transparent governance. “By engaging directly with citizens, we can better understand their needs and work towards solutions that benefit everyone,” he said. Similarly, MLA Vikram Singh Randhawa highlighted the role of community involvement in the success of government schemes, urging residents to actively participate in such forums.
The Public Samvaad initiative is part of a broader effort by the JMC to encourage active citizen engagement across municipal limits. Previous events, such as the one held in Rehari Colony on February 19, have also been well-received, with officials pledging to address demands raised by locals. Today’s gathering in Trikuta Nagar reaffirmed the JMC’s dedication to responsive and inclusive administration.
In addition to addressing public concerns, the event featured activities promoting environmental awareness, including a sapling plantation drive led by the dignitaries and a cleanliness pledge taken by participants. These efforts underscored the collective responsibility toward building a sustainable and cleaner Jammu.
The Public Samvaad concluded with a renewed commitment from the JMC and local representatives to work collaboratively with residents, ensuring that development initiatives reflect the aspirations of the people of Trikuta Nagar and beyond.
