Jammu & Kashmir: The Spiritual Energy Zone of India– LG Manoj Sinha on Navreh, Gudi Padwa & Navratri On the day of Pratipada of the Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month, herte in Jammu & Kashmir Navreh is being celebrated, somewhere Gudi Padwa is being celebrated, somewhere Ma Durga is being worshipped, said the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha. New year has started. I will pray to Mother Jagat Janani that this New Year brings prosperity, success and happiness in your lives, the Lieutenant Governor said. In the coming nine days, devotees from all over the country will worship the nine forms of Maa Durga. Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandmata, Katyayani, Kalratri, Mahagauri and Siddhidatri Devi. Devotees will set new goals by worshiping the Supreme Element. And the people here will also take a pledge for the holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir. In Sanatan culture, Jammu and Kashmir is known throughout the world as the only Sharada Peeth. The only desire of the devotees is to worship the divine mother throughout their lives. With devotion to mother, even the impossible becomes possible, LG added. Kashmiri Pandit brothers and sisters start Navreh with the darshan of the thaal. This is our thousands of years old spiritual cultural symbol through which the seeker realises the needs and responsibilities of day-to-day life. And that is why in many countries the religious ritual of Navreh is considered to be the best. This holy festival also reminds us of the greatness of truth. Mother’s power is the root of creation. And in the Rigveda it is even said that the Goddess is the supreme power of the universe. Various auspicious forms of the Goddess have been worshipped in Jammu and Kashmir for thousands of years. Hari Parvat, Mata Kheer Bhawani, Jwala Devi, Shailputri in Baramulla, Ma Bhadrakali in Kupwara, Mahakali in Srinagar, Ma Durga, Jyeshta Devi and Ma Vaishno Devi in Jammu. There are many such holy places on this holy land which are continuously showering their blessings on humanity. The Kashmiri Pandit Sabha has also made a very important contribution in keeping this spiritual heritage alive. It is written in Shrimad Devi Bhagwat Mahapuran that Shakti alone creates the universe and also maintains it. On this auspicious occasion, the present generation should take a pledge that the nine days of Navreh and Navratri will also be celebrated as a celebration of women power. I repeatedly say that Jammu and Kashmir is the spiritual energy zone of India. And many great men of the Kashmiri Pandit community have practiced meditation on this land for thousands of years. They have reached the pinnacle of consciousness. This holy festival of Navreh is a symbol of that devotion, faith, dedication and prayer, explained the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha.
