Jammu, November 25: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today conducted an on-site inspection of the Tawi Riverfront project and reviewed its progress. During the visit, he directed the officers and implementing agencies to expedite the work to ensure timely completion of the prestigious project.
Speaking to the media, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted that the first phase of the Tawi Riverfront, a flagship initiative under the Jammu Smart City project, is expected to be completed by January 2025. He emphasized that the development of the Riverfront will significantly enhance Jammu’s tourism potential, noting that other initiatives like the Jambu Zoo, Light & Sound Show, and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Temple have already been completed to further boost tourism in the region.
“The Tawi Riverfront will offer a major boost to Jammu’s tourism sector, with daily visitors already flocking to places like Suchetgarh and the Tirumala Tirupati Temple. We are working to create more such destinations across Jammu city and the region with support from the Government of India,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
Accompanying the Lieutenant Governor were Chief Secretary Sh. Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary Sh. Shaleen Kabra, Principal Secretary Dr. Mandeep Bhandari, and Commissioner/Secretary Ms. Mandeep Kaur, along with senior officials from the Jammu Smart City and other departments.
