Jammu, September 1, 2025 – Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha, alongside Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, conducted an aerial survey of the rain and flood-affected areas in Jammu today, assessing the devastation caused by unprecedented rainfall. The visit underscores the Central and Union Territory administration’s commitment to swift rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts.In a heartfelt statement, LG Sinha expressed solidarity with the affected families: “My heart goes out to the families who have lost loved ones and suffered property damage in this massive natural calamity. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Amit Shah have assured every possible effort for immediate relief, restoration of buildings, roads, and infrastructure, and comprehensive support to help affected families rebuild their lives.”
The combined forces of the Indian Army, Air Force, NDRF, NHAI, CAPFs, SDRF, J&K Police, and the UT Administration are working tirelessly, deploying all available resources for rescue and relief operations. Evacuated families are receiving aid and assistance at safe locations. LG Sinha emphasized the need for heightened vigilance, instructing district-level officers to monitor the situation 24/7 due to ongoing unusual climatic conditions.He urged residents to prioritize safety, stating, “I appeal to the people to take all precautions and remain in safe places.”
