The TB Mukt Panchayat initiative fuels India’s bold mission to wipe out TB by 2025—five years ahead of the global 2030 target—by mobilizing local communities to boost awareness, detection, and treatment. J&K’s success in driving down TB rates and rallying grassroots support earned it this national nod, spotlighting a model for others to follow.
Health officials and dignitaries at the event praised the teamwork behind the milestone. J&K leaders vowed to keep the momentum alive, calling for sustained collaboration to deliver a TB-free future. “This award is a rallying cry,” one official said. “We’re stronger together—and we’re not stopping now.”
