Jammu and Kashmir: LG Manoj Sinha orders swift action to avenge Pahalgam terror attack

Srinagar, April 24, 2025: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha chaired a high-level security review meeting at Raj Bhavan in Srinagar, directing Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat and senior officials to employ all necessary measures to avenge the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The meeting, attended by the Chief Secretary, senior civil administration officials, and top police personnel, focused on delivering a decisive response to the attack that injured several tourists and heightened security concerns in Jammu and Kashmir.

Manoj Sinha condemned the “cowardly” attack, vowing that those responsible would face severe consequences. He instructed the Jammu and Kashmir Police to intensify anti-terror operations, enhance intelligence-gathering, and coordinate with security forces to neutralise threats. The LG emphasised using “full force” to ensure justice, signalling a robust crackdown on terrorist networks operating in the region.

The directive follows Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent discussions with Sinha on April 22, 2025, underscoring a unified central and local strategy to combat terrorism. The meeting also reviewed security arrangements in vulnerable areas like Kulgam and Baramulla, where recent encounters have occurred, and stressed the need for heightened vigilance to protect locals and visitors.

Sinha assured the public that the administration is committed to restoring peace and preventing future attacks. Search operations have been launched in Pahalgam, with security forces actively pursuing leads to apprehend the perpetrators. The LG’s strong stance has resonated across the region, with local authorities tasked with bolstering security protocols.
