Banihal,November 30,2025: The Krawah Water Supply Scheme, part of the Jal Jeevan Mission, is nearing completion and is expected to provide safe and potable drinking water to over 230 households in the Banihal region. The project has been executed with an investment of ₹270.27 lakh and features a 30,000-gallon capacity storage system.
Officials stated that the scheme is set for commissioning by 31 December 2025, marking a significant milestone in the government’s initiative to ensure access to clean drinking water in rural and semi-urban areas. Once operational, the project will enhance public health and improve the quality of life for local residents by providing a continuous and safe water supply.
The Krawah Water Supply Scheme is part of a broader effort under the Jal Jeevan Mission, which aims to provide tap water connections to every household across India. Authorities emphasized that such projects not only improve living standards but also promote hygiene, sanitation, and overall community well-being.
Local residents have welcomed the project, expressing optimism about the benefits of uninterrupted access to clean water, which is expected to reduce dependence on traditional water sources and save time and effort in water collection.
