Sriharikota, November 2,2025: The Indian Space Research Organisation is set to launch its latest communication satellite, CMS-03 (GSAT-7R), weighing 4,410 kilograms, aboard the LVM3-M5 rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota, at 5:26 p.m. today.
The CMS-03 (GSAT-7R) satellite is designed to enhance secure communication capabilities for strategic and defense applications, ensuring improved connectivity and resilience in satellite-based communication systems. It succeeds the earlier GSAT-7 series and will play a key role in strengthening India’s space-based communication infrastructure.
The LVM3-M5, ISRO’s heavy-lift launch vehicle, is known for its high reliability and capability to carry large payloads into geosynchronous transfer orbit (GTO). This mission further underscores ISRO’s commitment to advancing indigenous space technology and supporting national communication networks.
Following a series of successful missions including Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1, the launch of CMS-03 adds to ISRO’s growing record of technological achievements and strategic space milestones.
