Kashmir, November 13,2025: The Indian Space Research Organisation achieved another milestone with the successful launch of its LVM3-M5 rocket, carrying CMS-03, the country’s heaviest and most advanced communication satellite. The launch, conducted from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, marks a significant leap toward strengthening India’s next-generation communication and digital connectivity infrastructure.
The LVM3-M5 lifted off precisely at 6:00 PM, placing CMS-03 into its designated geosynchronous transfer orbit after a flawless flight sequence. The satellite, weighing over 5,000 kilograms, is designed to provide high-throughput communication services across India, including remote and rural regions, thereby powering Digital India and smart connectivity initiatives.
Officials from ISRO described the mission as a “launch pad to leadership” moment, symbolizing India’s growing self-reliance and technological advancement in the space sector. CMS-03 is expected to enhance satellite bandwidth for telecommunication, broadcasting, disaster management, and strategic applications.
ISRO Chairman Dr. S. Somanath congratulated scientists and engineers for their relentless efforts, stating, “With CMS-03, India has taken a bold step toward building a more connected and communication-resilient nation.”
The LVM3 (Launch Vehicle Mark-3), often referred to as “India’s Bahubali Rocket,” has now completed multiple successful missions, including Chandrayaan-3 and OneWeb commercial launches, reaffirming its reliability as India’s heavy-lift vehicle.
The CMS-03 satellite will soon undergo orbit-raising maneuvers before deployment in its final slot to begin operational services. With this mission, ISRO continues to cement India’s position as a global leader in space technology and communication infrastructure.
