The Office of the Deputy Registrar, INDUSCOS, Jammu, successfully hosted the Chandrabhaga-INDUSCOS event at Lake View Resort, Gatha Bhaderwah, bringing together cooperatives from the Handicrafts and Handloom departments of Ramban, Doda, and Kishtwar districts. The event served as a platform for local weavers and artisans to showcase their unique products while raising awareness about departmental schemes and employment opportunities in the crafts sector.
Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh, presided over the event, accompanied by Joint Director Kul Raj Singh and Deputy Registrar INDUSCOS Shazia Rehman. Their participation underscored the significance of the initiative, as they engaged with artisans, encouraged cooperatives, and emphasised the importance of preserving traditional craftsmanship. A live craft station demonstrating the intricate processes of handloom weaving and handicraft production became a focal point, drawing significant public interest and appreciation.
In his address, DC Harvinder Singh commended the organisers for their efforts in promoting local artisans and their crafts. He highlighted the critical role of such initiatives in preserving cultural traditions, fostering local economic growth, and boosting the morale of artisans.
