Jammu, October 30,2025: In a move aimed at enhancing connectivity and passenger convenience, the Indian Railways has announced the resumption of four long-distance train services to and from Jammu. The decision comes as part of efforts to improve rail infrastructure and streamline travel options for commuters in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to railway officials, the trains will connect Jammu Tawi with key destinations across India, ensuring better accessibility for passengers traveling to states such as Delhi, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh. The services were temporarily suspended due to operational reasons and maintenance works. With their resumption, the railway network in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is expected to witness a significant boost in both passenger and freight movement.
Officials stated that the resumption will also benefit pilgrims, students, and tourists who rely heavily on long-distance train travel to reach the region. The Indian Railways continues to focus on enhancing comfort, punctuality, and safety for passengers, while also improving the economic linkage between Jammu and other major cities.
The move aligns with the government’s vision to strengthen transportation infrastructure in J&K, promoting regional growth and national integration.
