Indian Railways launches special train services for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 pilgrims

Srinagar , July 5, 2026- In a major boost to the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, Indian Railways has launched special train services to facilitate the smooth movement of pilgrims, providing direct rail connectivity from Jammu to Srinagar. The initiative is aimed at ensuring a safer, faster, and more convenient travel experience for thousands of devotees undertaking the annual pilgrimage to the Holy Cave Shrine of Baba Barfani.

The special train service is expected to significantly reduce travel time between Jammu and Srinagar, offering pilgrims a comfortable and reliable mode of transportation before they proceed to the Baltal and Pahalgam base camps for the sacred yatra.

Pilgrims have welcomed the introduction of the train service, describing it as a landmark step in improving connectivity and easing their journey. Many said the enhanced transport facilities, combined with efficient security arrangements, medical assistance, and accommodation, have made this year’s pilgrimage more accessible and hassle-free.

The launch of the special trains reflects the government’s continued efforts to strengthen infrastructure and provide seamless travel facilities for devotees participating in the annual pilgrimage. Authorities have also put in place comprehensive security measures and coordinated logistics to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of the yatra.

The Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 has witnessed enthusiastic participation from devotees across the country, with pilgrims praising the improved infrastructure, efficient management, and dedicated services provided by the administration, security forces, and langar organisations.
