Sopore, October 27,2025: In a remarkable show of civic responsibility and community spirit, the Sopore Police, in collaboration with local students, organised a cleanliness drive at the Sopore Railway Station to commemorate Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Observance Week. The initiative aimed to promote the values of unity, cleanliness, and public welfare, in line with the ideals of the Iron Man of India.
The event witnessed active participation from students, police personnel, and local volunteers, who came together to clean the railway premises, collect litter, and spread awareness about maintaining hygiene in public spaces.
Officers from Sopore Police highlighted that the drive was not just a cleanliness effort but also a tribute to Sardar Patel’s vision of a united and self-reliant India. They encouraged the students to continue taking part in such socially impactful activities that contribute to the well-being of society.
“Cleanliness is not just about keeping our surroundings tidy — it’s about showing respect for our environment and community. Today’s young participants have shown great enthusiasm and awareness,” said a senior police officer at the event.
Students expressed excitement at being part of the initiative, saying that such drives help them develop a sense of social responsibility and connect with community welfare efforts.
The event concluded with a pledge to keep public areas clean and green, emphasising that cleanliness, discipline, and unity are the building blocks of a progressive society.
The Sopore Police reaffirmed their commitment to organising more such initiatives under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, encouraging active citizen participation to achieve a cleaner and healthier Jammu and Kashmir.
