Gujrdor, Kashmir, June 20, 2025 – The Indian Army transformed the remote village of Gujrdor into a hub of hope today by organizing a free medical camp that provided critical healthcare services to hundreds of residents. With five specialist doctors at the helm, the camp offered free check-ups and medicines, earning heartfelt gratitude from locals, especially women and children, who rarely access such care in this isolated region.
Held in the heart of Kashmir, the camp addressed a range of health issues, from common illnesses to chronic conditions, while prioritising the needs of vulnerable groups. The doctors conducted thorough consultations and distributed essential medicines, ensuring immediate relief for many. “This camp is a blessing for us. My children got proper check-ups, and I received medicines I couldn’t afford,” said a local mother, her voice filled with emotion.
The initiative, part of the Indian Army’s “Army for the Awaam” outreach, also featured health awareness sessions to educate residents on hygiene and disease prevention. For Gujrdor’s community, cut off from urban medical facilities, the camp was a lifeline, reinforcing the Army’s role as a pillar of support in border areas.
Residents praised the Army’s compassion, with one elder noting, “The soldiers are not just our protectors but our caretakers.” The camp’s success, shared widely on platforms , highlights the @adgpi commitment to community welfare and strengthens ties with civilians in challenging terrains.
