Rajouri, Jammu & Kashmir | March 06, 2025 – The Indian Army’s Ace of Spades Division concluded a 10-day skill development training program under Operation Sadbhavana, aimed at fostering self-reliance among the youth of Rajouri district. The program culminated in a felicitation ceremony where 30 local participants received certificates and toolkits, marking a significant step towards equipping them with technical expertise for future employment.
Brigadier Atul Chaudhary Addresses Trainees
Addressing the skill development cadres, Brigadier Atul Chaudhary of the Indian Army emphasized the transformative potential of the initiative. “What you have been taught in the last 10 days has been an effort from the Army to take you one more step forward towards self-reliance,” he said. “Now, your ability, hard work, and long-term planning will determine how far you can take this knowledge. After this, we will try to help you get further courses or employment in some companies.”
The training focused on essential technical skills, including vehicle recovery and heavy machinery repair, designed to empower unemployed youth in the region with practical, employable abilities.
Operation Sadbhavana: A Commitment to Community Development
Operation Sadbhavana, a flagship initiative of the Indian Army, continues to play a pivotal role in uplifting communities in Jammu and Kashmir. By providing vocational training and resources, the program seeks to bridge the gap between education and employment, particularly in remote areas like Rajouri. The Ace of Spades Division’s efforts reflect the Army’s broader commitment to fostering peace and prosperity through socio-economic development.
Participants Equipped for the Future
During the ceremony, the 30 participants, hailing from various parts of Rajouri district, expressed gratitude for the opportunity. The toolkits distributed alongside the certificates are intended to enable them to apply their newly acquired skills immediately, whether in self-employment or by pursuing opportunities with local companies. The Army has also pledged ongoing support, including assistance in accessing advanced courses and job placements.
A Step Towards Self-Reliance in Rajouri
The initiative comes at a time when Rajouri and its surrounding areas are striving to overcome economic challenges. By equipping young individuals with marketable skills, the Indian Army aims to reduce unemployment and encourage self-sufficiency. Brigadier Chaudhary’s remarks underscored the importance of personal effort and planning, signaling that this training is just the beginning of a longer journey for the participants.
Looking Ahead
As Operation Sadbhavana continues to expand its reach, the Indian Army plans to roll out additional programs tailored to the needs of the region’s youth. Local leaders and residents have lauded the effort, viewing it as a vital contribution to the development of Jammu and Kashmir. With the foundation laid over the past 10 days, the trainees now stand at the threshold of new possibilities, supported by the Army’s vision for a self-reliant future.
