Banihal, July 5,2026- In a unique initiative to make the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 more memorable for devotees, the Indian Army and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) have established a special selfie point at the Lamber Yatra Camp in Banihal, Jammu and Kashmir.
The specially designed selfie point has become a popular attraction among pilgrims travelling to the holy cave shrine, offering them an opportunity to capture memorable moments during their spiritual journey. The initiative has been widely appreciated by devotees, many of whom stopped to take photographs before continuing towards the twin base camps of Baltal and Pahalgam.
The selfie point reflects the warm hospitality and people-friendly approach of the security forces deployed for the annual pilgrimage. Besides ensuring robust security, the Indian Army and the CRPF have been actively engaging with pilgrims by providing guidance, assistance, and a welcoming atmosphere throughout the Yatra.
Thousands of devotees from across the country are participating in this year’s pilgrimage, with extensive arrangements made by the Jammu and Kashmir administration and security agencies to ensure a safe, smooth, and comfortable journey. Multi-layered security, medical facilities, emergency response teams, sanitation services, and traffic management have been put in place along the entire Yatra route.
Pilgrims visiting the Lamber Yatra Camp expressed their appreciation for the thoughtful initiative, describing the selfie point as a memorable addition to their sacred journey and a symbol of the support extended by the security forces during the pilgrimage.
