Commemorating the adoption of Hindi as the official language by the Constituent Assembly on September 14, 1949, this day is marked by cultural programs, poetry recitals, and language awareness campaigns that highlight Hindi’s role in fostering unity and inclusivity.Serving as a bridge among India’s diverse languages and dialects, Hindi has played a pivotal role in strengthening national unity from the freedom struggle to the challenging days of the Emergency. Beyond its cultural and emotional significance, Hindi is carving a niche in the fields of technology, science, and research. In his message, the Union Home Minister stated, “Hindi has woven India’s diversity into a single thread and is advancing toward linguistic self-reliance in building a developed India.
”The celebrations emphasize Hindi’s ability to unite diverse linguistic communities while promoting progress in modern domains. Educational institutions, government bodies, and cultural organisations are hosting events to promote Hindi’s usage in digital platforms, artificial intelligence, and scientific discourse, aligning with the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India).
