BANDIPORA MARCH 09: Department of Health Bandipora today organised a preparatory workshop for all the involved stakeholders to prepare them for the upcoming National Deworming Day.
The workshop was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shakeel ul Rehman and was attended by Dy DEO Bandipora Mohammad Rafeeq Bhat, CMO Bandipora, officers and officials of Education, Health, ICDS, School heads of various schools and other concerned.
The workshop was aimed to prepare the involved stakeholders for the upcoming National Deworming Day to be observed on 11th March, followed by Mop-Up day on 18th March. Various measures for the successful implementation of National Deworming Day were discussed during the preparatory workshop.
CMO Bandipora, Dr. Rafi Ahmad Salathi apprised the Deputy Commissioner regarding various measures taken up by the department to protect the pre-school and school children who are at risk of parasitic intestinal worm infections.
He said that the Department has adopted a fixed day approach to deworm all enrolled and out of school children in schools and anganwadi centers on the 11th of march.
He said this year Bandipora has a target of around 1.5 lac children for providing deworming tablets.
Deputy Commissioner on the occasion stressed on coordination of all stakeholders for effective implementation of the programme.
