Handwara, March 31,2026-The Handwara Police on Tuesday organised a cycle marathon to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, paying tribute to his immense contribution to the unity and integrity of India.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth, students, and local residents, who cycled through designated routes carrying messages of national unity, fitness, and civic responsibility.
Officials said the initiative aimed not only to honour the legacy of Sardar Patel, popularly known as the “Iron Man of India,” but also to promote awareness about the importance of physical fitness and community engagement among the younger generation.
Speaking on the occasion, police officials highlighted Sardar Patel’s pivotal role in integrating princely states and strengthening the foundation of a united India. Participants were encouraged to draw inspiration from his leadership, determination, and vision.
