Kashmir, November 7, 2025 A ten-minute Sanskrit short film produced entirely by students of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Gurukul, Katra, was declared the best entry in the Educational Short Film category at the North Zone Youth Festival 2025.The festival concluded yesterday at Central Sanskrit University’s Shri Raghunath Kirti Campus, Ambala.Titled Manovritti, the film explores the mental habits that cause environmental pollution and offers simple, actionable solutions rooted in Indian tradition. From dialogue to final cut, every second was created by Gurukul students aged 14–18.Twenty-eight Sanskrit-medium schools from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Chandigarh took part. The jury hailed the film’s pure Sanskrit, crisp visuals, and urgent green message.Festival coordinator Dr Anupama Sharma said, “Teenagers speaking flawless Sanskrit about climate action—this is what the future sounds like.”The film premieres tonight at 9:00 PM on the Shrine Board’s official YouTube channel:
