Baramulla, October 28,2025 — To ensure a seamless and enjoyable winter experience for tourists, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa , chaired a comprehensive review meeting at Gulmarg, focusing on winter preparedness and service delivery for the upcoming tourist season.
During the meeting, DC Minga Sherpa emphasised key priorities including tourist safety, smooth traffic management, cleanliness, functional facilities, and the enhancement of winter services in the world-famous ski resort. Officials from departments such as Tourism, Police, Municipal Committee, and the Gulmarg Development Authority (GDA) participated to assess the overall readiness.
Sherpa directed all departments to work in close coordination to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply, efficient snow clearance, and prompt emergency response systems. He further stressed the importance of maintaining clean surroundings, ensuring functional sanitation units, and deploying medical and rescue teams for tourists’ safety.
Highlighting Gulmarg’s reputation as a premier winter tourism destination, DC Minga Sherpa called for proactive and people-centric measures to guarantee a safe, comfortable, and memorable stay for all visitors this season.
