Jammu, February 27, 2026 — Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated Goonj 2026, a unique two-day youth festival at the University of Jammu aimed at providing a platform for students from diverse disciplines to collaborate, innovate, and envision a shared future.
Addressing the gathering, LG Manoj Sinha underscored the critical role of youth in national development. “Empowered youth engineer the future. Intellectual depth, creative strength, and innovative youth leadership are essential for national advancement,” he said. He emphasised that nurturing balanced minds and bold innovators is key to sustainable development and progress.
The festival is designed to educate the mind, energise the body, and ignite innovation, offering workshops, competitions, and interactive sessions that encourage participants to think critically, act boldly, and innovate responsibly.
“Events like Goonj are vital for shaping well-rounded individuals capable of translating ideas into actionable solutions,” added LG Sinha, highlighting the government’s focus on youth empowerment and leadership development.
