Girls shine at ASMITA Pencak Silat League 2025

Srinagar, March 16,2026 – The ASMITA Pencak Silat State League 2025 concluded on a high note at the Indoor Sports Complex Polo Ground, bringing together around 550 girls from across Jammu and Kashmir who showcased their talent and determination in the martial art of Pencak Silat.

The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from young athletes representing different districts, with competitors displaying impressive skill, discipline, and sportsmanship throughout the event. The matches were held across various age and weight categories, providing a competitive platform for emerging martial artists.

Organized under the ASMITA (Achieving Sports Milestone by Inspiring Women Through Action) initiative, the event aimed to promote greater participation of women and girls in sports while encouraging physical fitness, confidence, and self-defense skills.

Officials and coaches present at the event praised the participants for their dedication and spirit. They noted that such competitions play an important role in nurturing sporting talent and empowering young girls to pursue careers in athletics and martial arts.
