SAMBA, AUGUST 27: Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College Vijaypur today launched a 2-day IEC (Information, Education and Communication) campaign on HIV/AIDS awareness under the auspices of J&K AIDS Control Society.
The Red Ribbon Club has planned different events during the two-day program that includes walkathon, poster competition and debate competition. Event started with a walkathon flagged off by the Principal of college, Dr. Vandana Verma along with other faculty members of the college. The walkathon was conducted within and outside the college premises in which student volunteers of RRC of the college participated.
Poonam Kundan, Convener of the Red Ribbon Club, emphasized the significance of this campaign. “International Youth Day is the perfect occasion to launch intensified IEC efforts. Young people are at the forefront of change, and our goal is to equip them with the knowledge and tools they need to combat HIV/AIDS effectively.”
As many as 60 Volunteers of the college actively participated in the walkathon. “This marathon symbolizes our collective effort to address the challenges of HIV/AIDS. Through this campaign, we aim to spread accurate information and foster a supportive community that empowers individuals to take proactive steps in their health,” Dr. Vandana Verma, said.
The programme was coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convener Red Ribbon Club) and co-coordinated by Dr. Naseem Choudhary and Prof. Meetu Sharma.
