Srinagar, November 12,2025: Political and religious leaders across Jammu and Kashmir strongly condemned the Red Fort blast in New Delhi, terming it a “cowardly and inhumane act” aimed at disturbing peace and unity in the country.
Expressing deep anguish over the tragic incident, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that the attack was an attempt to create fear and instability, but such acts would never succeed in breaking India’s resolve against terrorism. “The perpetrators of this heinous act will be brought to justice. The nation stands united against terror,” the LG said in a statement.
Leaders cutting across party lines — including those from the National Conference (NC), Peoples Democratic Party , Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Congress — joined in condemning the incident. NC vice president Omar Abdullah termed the blast “an assault on the symbol of India’s sovereignty,” urging authorities to ensure swift investigation and accountability. PDP president Mehbooba Mufti said violence in any form is unacceptable and only weakens democratic foundations.
Religious figures also voiced outrage over the attack. Prominent clerics and members of the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Wakf Board called for unity and restraint, urging people not to fall prey to divisive narratives. Grand Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam described the blast as “a cowardly attempt to create communal tension,” emphasising that peace and coexistence are central to the country’s ethos.
Civil society members, trade bodies, and youth organizations in Srinagar, Jammu, and other districts held silent marches and candlelight vigils to express solidarity with the victims and their families.
Authorities in Delhi have launched a comprehensive investigation into the Red Fort blast, while security has been tightened across major cities, including Srinagar and Jammu.
Jammu and Kashmir leaders reaffirmed their commitment to peace, unity, and national integrity, asserting that no act of terror can derail India’s democratic and secular fabric.
