Jammu, July 14,2026- A fresh batch of over 5,300 pilgrims on Tuesday departed from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, amid tight security arrangements and elaborate logistical support.

The pilgrims left in a convoy of escorted vehicles for the twin base camps at Nunwan (Pahalgam route) in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district. The convoy was flagged off in the early hours under multi-layered security provided by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and other agencies.

Officials said the administration has made comprehensive arrangements to ensure a safe and comfortable pilgrimage, including medical facilities, accommodation, sanitation, transport, food services, RFID-based tracking, emergency response teams, and round-the-clock monitoring along both Yatra routes.

The annual pilgrimage has been witnessing a steady influx of devotees from across the country, with the cumulative number of pilgrims visiting the holy cave shrine already crossing 2.75 lakh. Authorities continue to monitor weather conditions and maintain close coordination among various departments to ensure the smooth conduct of the Yatra.

Pilgrims have appreciated the extensive facilities and seamless arrangements put in place by the administration, security forces, the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB), and volunteers, contributing to the peaceful and successful conduct of the sacred pilgrimage.
