JAMMU, JANUARY 11:Javed Ahmed Rana, the Minister for Jal Shakti, Forests, Ecology & Environment, and Tribal Affairs, announced the approval of forest clearances for a series of crucial developmental projects aimed at accelerating progress across Jammu and Kashmir. This marks a significant step forward in the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure while ensuring environmental sustainability.
The projects granted clearance include several essential Water Supply Schemes , such as those for Bhattan, Kewa, Amrothi, Darsoo Guddar, and others, all designed to improve access to water in both rural and urban areas. In addition, the 4G Saturation Project in Babeti has also received approval, reinforcing the government’s commitment to enhancing digital connectivity in remote and underserved regions. Furthermore, the re-routing of the 400 KV S/C Dulhasti to Kishenpur transmission line has been greenlit, ensuring more efficient power transmission and greater energy reliability in critical areas.
Minister Javed Rana emphasized the importance of compensatory afforestation to mitigate any potential ecological imbalances resulting from these projects. “We are committed to fast-tracking development in Jammu and Kashmir while preserving the environment for future generations,” Rana stated. He underscored the government’s goal of fostering inclusive growth, ensuring that every community benefits from these advancements.
The Minister assured that the projects had undergone thorough review to comply with environmental norms, reflecting the government’s balanced approach to both development and conservation. He praised the Forest Department and other agencies for their proactive efforts in expediting the approval process without compromising on environmental safeguards.
Rana further highlighted the broader vision behind these projects, which aim to address long-standing infrastructural gaps and enhance the quality of life for residents across the region. He urged authorities to ensure timely implementation and pledged close monitoring to avoid delays.
