Jammu, July 1, 2026-The first batch of pilgrims undertaking the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026 is all set to depart from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas Base Camp in Jammu. The pilgrims will be flagged off by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, marking the formal commencement of this year’s annual pilgrimage to the Holy Cave Shrine of Baba Barfani.
Thousands of devotees from across the country have reached Jammu and completed the necessary registration and security formalities ahead of the Yatra. After the ceremonial flag-off, the first convoy of yatris will proceed under a multi-layered security cover towards the twin routes of Pahalgam in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district, from where the pilgrimage to the Holy Cave will begin.
Officials have urged pilgrims to follow all guidelines issued by the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board (SASB) and cooperate with security personnel for a safe and hassle-free pilgrimage.
The 57-day Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026 will officially commence on July 3, with thousands of devotees expected to pay obeisance at the sacred shrine nestled in the Himalayas.
