Srinagar, November 26,2025 – Following a months-long hiatus due to security concerns after the Pahalgam terror attack, film crews have begun returning to Kashmir to resume shooting. The gradual return of filmmakers marks a significant step in restoring the Valley’s position as a popular shooting destination for movies and television.
Officials and local stakeholders expressed optimism that the resumption of film shoots will help revive tourism, generate employment, and boost the local economy, which had been adversely affected by security disruptions.
The move also reflects growing confidence in the security arrangements and safety measures implemented across key shooting locations in Kashmir, including Pahalgam, Gulmarg, and Srinagar. Filmmakers are expected to contribute to promoting the Valley’s breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and scenic locales through their projects.
Tourism and film officials highlighted that the resumption of shoots is part of ongoing efforts to revitalise the creative industry in the region while ensuring the safety of artists, crew members, and tourists.
