watan ki sar-zamin se ishq o ulfat hum bhi rakhte hain khaTakti jo rahe dil mein wo hasrat hum bhi rakhte hain zamane ko hila dene ke dawe bandhne walo zamane ko hila dene ki taqat hum bhi rakhte hain Josh Malsiani With the same strength and determination, Jammu and Kashmir is setting new records of success in the sports sector as well. Apart from a Sports Indoor Stadium in Handwara in Kupwara district, seven projects related to the development here have been launched. I would like to thank the district administration, DDC Chairperson and all the elected representatives for this. Development of Sport Complex at Bungus has been done at a project cost of Rs 250 lakh. Under PM’s Prime Minister Development Plan due to the funding it got, today 16 Indoor Sports Halls have been dedicated to the players and youth of Jammu and Kashmir. From panchayat to district level, not only has the infrastructure improved, but efforts have been made to do continuous mentoring and handholding of promising players. In addition, five more Indoor Sports Hall in the near future are getting completed. These will fulfill the resolutions of the administration in promoting the potential of the players. Our sports budget is bigger than the budget of the biggest state Uttar Pradesh, LG said. The Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall at Handwara has been completed at a cost of Rs 4 crore. Other essential facilities have been provided like a washing room, dining hall, change room, manager room, physio room, and facilities for parking. Today I dedicate all these sports facilities to the youth here, LG stated. I hope that their effort, their determination, their strength, their passion, and discipline of sports and these abilities will also make them progress in the playgrounds of Jammu and Kashmir. This Multipurpose Sports Hall will fulfill the aspirations of the youth residing near Handwara and will provide a golden opportunity to many. For many years these young men had cherished their dreams and it’s time to make them come true, LG said. In the last three to four years, a lot of attention has been given to inclusive development in Jammu and Kashmir. And because of that a new kind of confidence has been born. Last year sixty lakh people participated in various fields of sports. Not only this, the state-of-the-art facilities are now also encouraging our sportspersons to perform their best. In the World Championship of Para Archery, Union Territory Athletes, Rakesh and Savita have recently won Gold Medals. Due to which it can be called a big achievement not only for Jammu and Kashmir but also for the whole country. Today, people have started calling Jammu and Kashmir the powerhouse of sports at the national level. The glory of Jammu and Kashmir is now flying again in the playgrounds. For a long time, appointments were not being made under the sports quota. According to the order of the Sports High Court, those sportspersons who had performed brilliantly at the national and international levels and who were not getting place in government jobs, for them there is good news. Three days back that file has been cleared, informed the LG. Before August 15, Government appointment letter will be issued to all those 200 plus distinguished players, LG stated. The Indoor Stadium is a big demand of this district which has been fulfilled, said the youth. This is the first Indoor stadium that has been inaugurated by the Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha. This is a good step and we are very grateful. The youth players during winters were suffering in their games. This is a very good thing that has happened for the youth. In the last two-three years, development has been happening but development is an unending process. But we have raised the graph. We will try to improve the sports infrastructure and address the problems. Youth are overjoyed their demand has been met. The inauguration of the first Indoor stadium by the Lieutenant Governor is celebrated as a positive step that will boost the sports ecosystem in the region. The continuous focus on development and infrastructure improvement aims to nurture talents and propel Jammu and Kashmir to become a powerhouse of sports in the nation.
